So we finally had our first game of Dux! Yeah! It was a fast and furious raid on a church in which almost the whole of the Saxon hearth guard bit the dust… ouch!
There are more pictures and a more detailed write up here: http://jannersjaunt.blogspot.se/2013/01/first-blood.html
In all honesty I didn’t really think about what I was doing. I just moved the pieces around like when you’re trying out a new gadget and pushing all the buttons. I guess getting the numerical advantage is what this game is all about.
Looking forward to play some more!
Also for Dux and maybe SAGA I started making a flexible gaming mat inspired by Sir Tobi of Lead Adventure Forum! I have no idea whether it’s going to work or not. But we’ll see in a few days when it’s all dry…
Spreading the goo was harder than I thought it would be. Luckily I can get sturdy latex gloves at the lab, so I don’t need to get my hands dirty.
Also the amount of scattering material needed to make this was a lot more than expected. You’re easily spending half a tube of those big old Woodland scenics ones. Not economic unless you know what you’re doing! 😀
I cross my fingers that this is going to work… I used some cheap hemp-like cloth and I have no idea whether it’s going to work. Before spreading it I put a plastic table cloth underneath so it won’t stick to the wooden table if it goes through.
Oh well, hobby is hell!
The tablecloth looks really interesting! Will read the AAR over on Janners.Keep up the good stuff!
