I had the idea to make some blast markers for Epic Armageddon.

I saw some military modellers using black clump foilage in larger scales to create explosions and thought it could easily be converted to Epic scale.

I elaborated a bit on the design by adding round balls for explosions going on – a bit of manga inspiration there.

The way I make them is by first building it all, then painting it black with a mix of spray and watered down (and with a drop of surface tension breaker) black paint. Then I “highlight” them to grey with a white spray paint. Following this I paint the explosions by building up from orangey red.

So there you go – dead easy.
